Antimicrobial treatment targets the bacteria living in artificial turf fibers and infill – the organisms actually responsible for much of the ongoing odor and hygiene concerns in a pet-heavy yard. Urine and organic residue create an environment bacteria thrive in, and as they multiply, they produce the musty, sour smell that lingers even after visible dirt and debris have been cleared away. This treatment is about reducing that bacterial load directly, not just addressing what you can see or smell on the surface.
Signs you need this include a persistent musty or sour smell that's different from the sharp ammonia odor of fresh urine – a smell that suggests something biological is actively growing rather than just residue sitting on the surface. Yards used by multiple pets, or ones where waste isn't picked up immediately every time, tend to build bacterial presence faster. If anyone in the household has noticed skin irritation after yard time, or if you simply want the surface genuinely sanitary rather than just tidy-looking, this treatment addresses that directly.
We apply a pet-safe antimicrobial solution formulated for synthetic turf, working it into the fibers and infill layer where bacteria actually live and multiply, not just across the visible surface. The turf gets a rinse first to clear loose organic material so the antimicrobial can reach and treat what remains rather than being blocked by surface debris. We allow proper dwell time for the treatment to actually work before any final rinse, since bacteria reduction needs real contact time, not a quick spray that's immediately washed away.
Cost is based on square footage and how long it's been since the last treatment – yards in Malden On Hudson, NY on a recurring antimicrobial schedule need lighter applications than yards being treated for the first time after a long stretch without any bacterial control.
A yard that looks clean can still be a breeding ground for bacteria underneath. Call (928) 427-2477 to get it properly treated.
